Jack Bateson passed the toughest test of his professional career when he saw off the challenge of tough Argentinean Diego Alberto Ruiz.
Bateson was fighting in front of his passionate Leeds supporters and secured a unanimous points win after 10 rounds.
The former Great Britain amateur, fighting for the first time since joining Probellum, picked up the vacant WBA Intercontinental Super Bantamweight title and now hopes to land a spot in the top 15 rankings.
Bateson is now 17-0 as a professional and is eyeing “big nights” in Leeds with the backing of his new promoter.
