Biography
Sam Maxwell fought for the IBO world title in April in a Fight of the Year contender with Alejandro Meneses at Probellum Liverpool.
The 33-year-old was born in London but has been based on Merseyside since childhood and won national and international amateur medals while wearing the vest of the famous Salisbury ABC.
Maxwell, a Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, has won WBO European, British and Commonwealth belts as a professional but now has the IBO world crown within reach.
