British champion Troy Williamson warms up for a mouth-watering title fight with Josh Kelly by facing David Benitez in Bolton on Saturday, live on Channel 5.
Williamson is set to face Kelly later this year in a second defence of his British belt, but he must first get past Argentina’s Benitez this weekend.
The unbeaten Williamson last fought in March, when he defended his Lonsdale Belt in a Fight of the Year contender against Mason Cartwright, dragging himself up off the canvas to win on points.
The ‘Trojan’ has established himself as one of the country’s most exciting fighters and knows a win over the ‘Alligator’ this weekend in Bolton, will pave the way for a clash with Kelly.
“Everyone knows I’ve got my sights set on a fight with Josh Kelly and so this contest in Bolton on Saturday night is the perfect opportunity to sharpen my tools,” said Williamson.
“I have no doubt that Josh will be watching my performance closely and I can’t wait to get back in the ring and fight for the first time since my British title defence in March.”
