EIMANTAS STANIONS MAKES UNDISPUTED STANCE CLEAR AMID TALK OF SPENCE VS CRAWFORD
6 months ago

Eimantas Stanionis has made it clear that he only wants one thing: to become the undisputed welterweight champion of the world.

The 27-year-old took the WBA ‘regular’ world title from Radzhab Butaev in April in a bruising contest and he became mandatory challenger for Spence in the process.

Spence now holds the WBA’s ‘Super’ version of the 147lbs belt – as well as the WBC and IBF crowns – and Stanionis insists an agreement was already in place for him to fight the American.

Spence could yet push for a fight with WBO king Terrence Crawford, with Stanionis in line to fight the winner for all of the belts in a massive undisputed clash.

“My dream is still to fight for all of the belts and become undisputed champion,” Stanionis told Boxing Scene.

“Right now, [winning the world title] is like a dream. As a kid, this is something I’ve always dreamed of. It still feels like that. It’s a dream come true. It means a lot for me and my country.”
